I came across this photo on Swank Heights' blog and I seriously need this piece for my living room. Unfortunately, the boyfriend is less than enthused. Anna Wintour, satire and Frenchies—what's not to love?

A Shorts Story
Confession: I'm addicted to shorts. I don't know how it began, but I seriously love them. Perhaps it's due to the wind in San Francisco where it's tough to wear skirts, but whatever it is, it's love.
The shorts in my closet get worn year-round—bare legs in the spring/summer, paired with tights/thigh-high socks in the fall/winter. As far as cut goes, I'm relatively short in stature so they're mostly short-short, but I have them in various materials, colors and prints.
I have shorts from all sides of the cost spectrum including Forever 21, Club Monaco and Stella McCartney. The thing is, I want more. Here are some of the ones I have my eye on:

Julian Louie x Aldo
I've been waiting for the Julian Louie X Aldo collaboration since I first saw preview pictures online. My obsession with tribal prints this spring is well documented so clearly this shoe was perfect for me. Unfortunately, they decided to only release them in select markets—not San Francisco. Figures. Luckily for me, my besty lives in New York so she was able to snag me a pair.
I got them yesterday and I'm in love. They fun, funky and crazy comfortable considering the height. I was so excited I wore them to work today. Forgive the shoddy iphone quality and messy room—my iphone4 was stolen during fashion week (sob!)...I have no excuse for the room. Oh, and yes it has been warm enough to wear shorts to work this week. Shorts to the office you say? Well, working in fashion has its perks.

Spring Espadrilles
I've been drooling over these since I saw them on Mary Katrantzou's spring runway. I don't think they were ever officially produced.
($545 from Net-a-Porter)
Then I found out Christian Louboutin does all her shoes. He doesn't make them in funky colors, but these black ones are still sigh-worthy. Unfortunately, they're out of budget—by a lot.
(Sam Edelman Leroy $149 on Piperlime)
I've found several shoes that are similar, but too close for comfort. I don't like exact replicas. So I've ordered these. They have a similar feel, but not identical. Here's hoping they work out!

Look Ma, No Black!
It's sad, but I rarely go a day without at least one piece of black on me. This spring, I'm determined to inject some real color into my wardrobe. Now, I have two sets of wishlists. My completely unrealistic, designer-filled one—the one where I buy a Proenza Schouler PS11 in every color—and my more reasonable, borderline cheap one. Since I am sadly working on a fashion writer budget without a trust fund (and am in no mood to torture myself), I present color—the high street way!
